Susan Russell Hall + Terry Rishel

American artists, Susan Russell Hall and Terry Rishel, are a collaborative team exploring their inherent love of photography, encaustic, and oil paint.  The subjects in their work often include florals, forests, and abstracts in nature.  Together, they discovered their unique style of robbing certain aspects of the subjects, such as focus and color, or increasing vignette, then engaging that with encaustic wax layers, patina, and oil paints.  In 2026, Russell Hall and Rishel will headline a three-venue simultaneous immersive exhibition at the Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass, and Lakewold Garden Preserve, all located in Washington State. This monumental collaboration will be enhanced with music by Symphony Tacoma.
